The elements of nature are the healing agents in Natural Medicine and treatments like Hydrotherapy, Mud therapy and Heliotherapy let these elements interact with the body and facilitate healing and rejuvenation.

Being a system of medicine that works on the energy layer of the body, called ‘Pranayama Kosha', Energy Medicine is brought into the treatment programmes to aid the self-healing process. Various massages are also integrated into the curing process to relax the muscles and improve blood circulation. The therapies, administered by our team of doctors and therapists in the purest way, work without disturbing the natural functioning of the body and do not have any harmful side effects.

Mud Therapy

For Mud Therapy, we use therapeutic packs made from various types of clays and minerals. Mud absorbs toxins from the body and thus, aids the body in the eliminative process. Its vitalising power boosts the healing process. Mud bath improves blood circulation and energises the tissues. Mud also has soothing, cooling and electromagnetic properties. These properties make it an ideal treatment modality for skin ailments.

The packs can be administered on specific body parts or the entire body depending on the kind of treatment required for each patient. Mud is a good abdominal pack as it alleviates indigestion and stimulates peristalsis. Application of mud on the head relives pains caused by congestive headaches. When applied to the eyes, mud pack reduce strain and helps in healing refractive errors like short / long sight.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy uses water in any of its forms for maintaining health, treating specific illnesses and alleviating pain. Hip bath, spinal bath, arm and foot bath and spinal spray are the various ways in which hydrotherapy is administered to our patients. Being diuretic, hydrotherapy helps in flushing out toxins from the body. It is a great way to improve circulation by providing nourishment and oxygen to the cells and tissues.

Hydrotherapy can be administered as a hot or cold bath. Hot baths soothe and relax the body whereas cold baths rejuvenate and stimulate the body. The antispasmodic nature of water makes hydrotherapy ideal for loosening tight, tense muscles and encouraging relaxation. This therapy hydrates the cells and improves muscle and skin tone and is of antipyretic use for fever.

Heliotherapy

Heliotherapy is the use of natural sunlight for therapeutic purposes. It is a highly effective treatment modality for psoriasis and other skin disorders. Vitamin D, produced by the body when the skin is exposed to sunlight, boosts immunity and fights infections. This therapy is administered in various ways. In Direct Sun Bath the body is exposed to the sun for 1 or 2 hours after sunrise or before sunset. During Indirect Sun Bath, the body is covered with white cotton cloth, and the head and eyes are covered with a wet pack.

For Banana Leaf Sun Bath, the body is covered with banana leaves and then exposed to sunlight. Localised Sun Baths are used to provide sun exposure to specific parts of the body. The entire body, except the desired area for exposure, is covered with a wet cloth. In colour bath, based on the therapeutic requirements, the body is exposed to the various constituent colours in sunlight.

Energy Medicine

At Prakriti Shakti, we use Energy Medicine to work on the energy layer of the body and help you regain vigour and vitalism. The therapies in Energy Medicine have their roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Like ‘prana’ in Yoga or ‘vitality’ in Naturopathy, the concept of ‘Qi’ is central to this system of medicine and healing. ‘Qi’ is the life force residing in and flowing through every living entity. Balanced and unhindered flow of ‘Qi’ is essential for staying alive and robust. The therapies in Energy Medicine balance and enhance the ‘Qi’ for the betterment of mental and physical health.

Acupuncture & Acupressure

These therapies are a way to rectify imbalances in the flow of ‘Qi’ by the stimulation of specific points on the body. Acupuncture points are located on meridians or pathways through which ‘Qi’ circulates in the body. In acupuncture, the stimulation is done through painless insertion of needles. In acupressure, pressure is applied to acupoints. Working on these points removes blockages and restores unhindered flow of ‘Qi’. These therapies are administered especially for nervous system and musculoskeletal system related ailments, psychological conditions and pain management.

Reflexology

In Reflexology, the treatment focuses on reflex points on the feet, hands or ears. These points correspond to various organs, systems and regions of the body. Applying pressure to these points strengthens and heals the corresponding parts of the body. At Prakriti Shakti, we have developed a Reflexology Track. Walking on this track, designed with strategic placement of pebbles, stimulates neurological reflex zones on the feet. It has an immediate reviving effect on aching and enervated feet. Reflexology energises the central nervous system, improves metabolism and strengthens the immune system.

Cupping

Cupping is done by placing glass cups on various regions on the skin to create a vacuum and thus increase the flow of blood to these areas. It also removes obstructions in the flow of energy. For people suffering from muscle pains, cupping is a highly effective treatment. It relieves muscle knots and swelling. Cupping is a highly effective treatment for rheumatic diseases. The detoxification properties of this therapy helps in alleviating skin diseases. Cupping can also be done to strengthen the body and for prevention.

Moxibustion

In Moxibustion, heat therapy is administered to specific points in the body by burning ‘moxa’ which is made of the dried leaves of a herb called Mugwort. Moxa can also be a combination of Mugwort, scientifically called Artemisia Vulgaris, and other herbs. The burning may be combined with needling. The method and place of application varies with the ailments treated. Warming of the energy meridians with ‘moxa’ enhances the flow of ‘Qi’ and nourishes the energy meridians.

Massage & Physiotherapy

Massage invigorates the circulatory system, releases tight muscles, improves agility and relieves pain. Using massage oils and various massage techniques like percussion, kneading and stroking, this massage nourishes muscles and internal organs. The calming and relaxing effects of this massage makes it an ideal method to destress and reduce anxiety in a natural way. It is an effective treatment modality for depression.

Physiotherapy is used in our treatment programmes for palliative care and rehabilitation. We use electrotherapy and exercise therapies to treat ailments related to the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system like paralysis, paresis and spasms. According to the prognosis, doctors prescribe active and passive exercises. These exercises are beneficial in developing fitness and restoring functional ability. It reduces pain and minimises dysfunction.
