Ardha Kati Chakrasan - SwaSwara, CGH Earth

The name for this asana, Ardha Kati Chakrasan is derived from the Sanksrit words ardha meaning half; kati meaning ‘waist’, and ‘chakra’ which means ‘wheel’. We bend and form a half wheel or half-moon posture with our arm and waist stretched to its fullest towards the side.

The arc formed in this asana relaxes the sides of the body, eases the flow of breath, removes stiffness in the thighs, hips and waist and improves flexibility. It also relieves pain in the lower back and tones your abdominal muscles, besides trimming excess fat from the waist.

Daily practice helps you realize the benefits of yoga and Ayurveda

The physical and emotional well-being of the body benefits greatly from a healthy mind. The reverse is also true - if the mind is weak, the body becomes weak. Unfortunately, people right now are bogged down by anxiety and fear. And it’s lowering our immunity against infections, besides limiting our lifestyle. The practice of Yoga and breathing techniques calms nerves and helps you build a robust immune system - thus ensuring that both aspects of health are in alignment for your well-being. The team at SwaSwara has put together a video on two Yoga asanas, Vakrasana and Marjariasana or cat pose, which you can practice in the comfort of your own home. Regular practice of Yoga centres you and clears your mind of negativity, bringing peace to your inner self and keeping your body in the best shape to fight illness. Always remember - one day at a time!
